Drive and Handling
All three trim levels of the IONIQ Plug-in Hybrid feature the same 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. This engine produces up to 104 horsepower and 109 pound-feet of torque. That doesn't sound too impressive, but once it's combined with the 60-horsepower electric motor you get an additional boost in power and throttle response. The combined system produces up to 139 horsepower, which is more than enough to power your day. Power is sent to the front wheels via the 6-speed EcoShift® Dual Clutch Transmission with SHIFTRONIC®. With Drive Mode Select, you can tailor the economy and performance of the IONIQ Plug-in Hybrid to your driving style and efficiency needs. Technology like Vehicle Stability Management, Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control, and Brake Assist, and Electronic Brake-force Distribution, you can feel comfortable and confident on the road, no matter what's thrown at you.
If you’re concerned about charging, Hyundai has made it simple. With standard 110v/120v outlets, you can charge the IONIQ Plug-in Hybrid in less than nine hours, and with a 240v charger, you can do the same in less than two and a half hours. With standard regenerative braking, the IONIC can recover some of the power by converting the mechanical energy into electricity for later use. With Blue Link® you can schedule charging to always maintain the battery level and save money by charging during off-peak hours.
Key Features

You’ll also be able to start the engine with climate control already set, so you can warm it up or cool it down before you even get in your vehicle. You can access Bluelink® through your car, smartphone, smartwatch, Amazon Echo, or Google Home.
Safety
The IONIQ Plug-in Hybrid is the perfect car for driving around the city, and no daily driver is complete without a full array of safety features.
